Why did you start this blog?

After spending about a year reading DIY blogs, I became interested in starting my own, but between planning a wedding and finishing my Master’s Degree, I did not have a lot of spare time.  But then, one of my classes required you to create a web presence, so I thought why not knock out two birds with one stone.

Are you an interior designer or expert?

I am not an interior designer or expert DIYer or decorator by any means.  Rather, I am a newlywed who wants to turn our first apartment together into a home.  I am learning new things as I go, like sewing, and inspired daily by other DIY blogs and Pinterst.  I am excited to share my adventures and misadventures in making our apartment a home with you on this blog.

What are your favorite places to shop for accessories for your apartment?

Well I have dreams about being able to shop at Ikea, but we do not have one near us, not even in the same state.  😦  But I do have a shopping list started for when I finally make it to one.  If there is one near you, it is an awesome store for home decor and furniture at a really good price.   Another store I love that is not in the same city as us either is Home Goods.  It is great if you are looking for accessories for your home at a great price.  Marshalls and TJ Maxx are owned by the same people and are supposed to be just as good, but those stores always seem to be hit or miss for me, while I can always find more than what I need at Home Goods.

The stores that I always go to when looking for home decor that are in town are Target and Kirkland’s.  Target is great with always having designer collections made specifically for Target with low price points.    And Kirkland’s has a lot of the current trends in home decor all at great prices.
